The L Word Season 2 Preview

Thanks to the glory of Showtime On Demand I saw the sneak peak of The L Word Season 2 today. From the looks of things Season 2 seems on track to increase the eye rolling and shoe throwing factors from last year. Oh goodie.
Highlights from the sneak peak include:
- Shane being as ho-ish as ever. Lots of different women, lots of talk of love being bad. And also she inexplicably does Arianna Huffington’s hair. I’m still very puzzled by that.
- Though I desperatley hoped we’d never have to speak of the Ivan thing again (yes, I hoped for the same thing last year) the writers are determined to torture me by making the Ivan/Kit situation a prominent storyline. Thanks people, thanks a lot. From the preview it looks to be the exact same storyline as last year.
- After breaking Tina’s heart by bedding the hotness that was Candance, Bette seems to have connected with her inner playa. The preview finds her in bed with an unidentified woman, hitting on someone else in a club, and yelling at Alice when Alice points out that she can sometimes be cruel. Of course all this playaness may be a ploy to cover her own broken heart (which of course she caused herself) because the end of the sneak preview finds her screaming “Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiina”
- Tina meanwhile is making statements like “”I want my autonomy” to a therapist type.
- Alice and Tennis Player seem to be dancing around one another post-season finale kiss. Still unsure of what they are and what they want to be to each other.
- As mentioned here previously the Marina character has been dumped. The preview implied she’s dead and because the writers want to see if you can sprain an eye by rolling it too much it was also implied that she was calling Straight Girl’s Jenny’s name when she died. Good grief Charlie Brown, good grief.
- Notable(?) guest stars this season include Sandra Berndhardt as an instructor for a class Jenny is taking and a very blonde Camryn Manheim (and blonde is not a good color for her).
The L Word Season 2 starts in February.
